I only just heard about Dalgona coffee, aka whipped coffee, during quarantine. I dove in, and did a little reading about it, it seems that it has been around for quite some time, and there are a few regions that claim they made it first!? I do not know the facts, I just know it is delicious, and I am pretty sure I have had it before when I’ve traveled overseas.
It is sweet, so just know that going in. But it does makes a nice, occasional treat, and it is fun to make! And when the recipe tells you to whip the coffee/sugar/water mixture for 8 minutes, yes, it literally takes a full 8 minutes. So buckle up!
Note: depending on how much you make and use, if there are leftovers, store it in an air tight container, and keep in fridge. I think it will keep for up to a week, fluff and all.
Sip back, relax and enjoy! ~Jeanne

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup instant coffee
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 8-10 oz hot milk
Instructions
- Put instant coffee, sugar and hot water into a large mixing bowl.
- Using a hand mixer, whip the coffee for 8 minutes. (Literally for 8 min.)It will change from dark brown to a light and fluffy beige creamy color, I promise!
- Heat up your milk, on stove or in microwave. Depending on the size of your mug and how much coffee/sweetness you'd like. Pour your mug 1/2 full with milk and top off mug with whipped coffee base. Gently stir. And keep stirring, because it takes a little while due to how thick the whipped coffee base it. Sip and enjoy! <3
